Why I became a Holistic Nutritionist
From 5 Years of Suffering to Pregnant on the 1st Try
For 5 years, I spotted almost every single day. I suffered in silence, but I knew my body was telling me something. I finally learned that I have PCOS, but every doctor I saw gave me the same script: "Take birth control." But birth control never actually helped my symptoms - it just made me feel worse.
Western medicine kept gaslighting me into believing that heavy, painful and irregular periods were "normal." But common is not the same as normal and I refused to accept that this was my only option, so I finally took my health into my own hands.
After 5 years of feeling dismissed and defeated, I found a hormone health course from one of the top naturopathic doctors in women's health. It completely opened my eyes to what was actually possible through nutrition, herbs, and targeted supplementation.
Within the first month of going all in with holistic healing - really addressing root causes instead of just covering up symptoms - things started to change. My body was responding. I was getting better. I had more energy, my sleep improved, and my periods went from extremely heavy to hardly noticeable - I couldn't believe it!
That's when I knew: if this worked for me, it could work for other women too. Women who were being told the same things I was. Women who deserved better guidance than "just take birth control and hope" to "your labs are normal" even though you feel like your body is screaming at you, telling you something isn't right.
I enrolled in Edison Institute of Nutrition to become a certified Holistic Nutritionist weeks before I found out I was pregnant - on the first try, just one month after my wedding. I honestly expected it to take much longer given what I'd been told and seeing everyone around me struggle with fertility - but that's what happens when you actually prep your body properly, detox with guidance, and get your body in the best place it can be months BEFORE you start trying to conceive. These methods work.
Now as a new mom, I'm more passionate than ever about helping women understand that your body is giving you signals everyday - and together, we can decode what it's saying and guide you back to a place of balance.
